Clinical Massage Therapy Services in Boulder, CO

Deep Tissue, Targeted Massage: Focused work for chronic muscle tension, adhesions, and restricted movement patterns. Commonly used by athletes, desk workers, and people with long-standing discomfort. Addresses trigger points and fascial restriction using slow, deliberate pressure.

Sports Massage & Injury Recovery: Pre-event preparation, post-event recovery, and soft-tissue work during a return to training for runners, cyclists, climbers, and active people. Focuses on movement quality, recovery between sessions, and the muscular patterns that build up around strains, sprains, and overuse.

Myofascial Release Therapy: Gentle, sustained pressure to address fascial restriction and support mobility. Often chosen by clients managing fibromyalgia, persistent pain, postural strain, and movement limitations alongside their medical care.

Orthopedic Massage: Assessment-based soft-tissue work for musculoskeletal complaints — including the patterns associated with rotator cuff irritation, TMJ tension, sciatic-type symptoms, frozen shoulder, plantar fascia pain, and post-surgical recovery with physician clearance.

Chronic Pain Support: A layered approach for people living with lower back pain, neck pain, headaches, arthritis, and nerve-related symptoms. Techniques are combined and adapted to what you are actually experiencing.

Massage therapy is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment, and is not a replacement for physical therapy or physician care. If something falls outside my scope, I will say so and refer you on.

Our Process

Communicate Effectively

By understanding what you are experiencing I am better able to explain the involved anatomy, thereby helping us both with informed consent in how we will approach treating your symptoms.

Assess and Identify

The session will involve precise palpation of the affected areas to assess the limitations within the soft tissue where the primary concerns are.

Expert Manual Therapies

Using a variety of therapeutic techniques, Lao will work to improve the quality of the tissue mechanics to help your own body improve its recovery and reduce your symptoms.

Observe and Compare

More than anything, we strive to provide significant improvements to how you feel and move. By comparing what you felt like and were able to do in the beginning of the session to the end highlights the regenerative ability of your own body when given skillful aide.
